One awesome and unchanging statistic that has remained relatively unchanged for the past fifty years is that over 90 percent of projects fail! They fail to achieve their objectives, fail in meeting the schedule, and fail to meet the needs of the business!
With so many of our clients struggling with implementing their projects, KCG researched the techniques used in the small percentage of projects that are outstanding successes. We have worked with many of our clients to teach them these approaches as well as to help them implement them in their most significant business efforts. The work does not rely on any new software tool or latest in CPM or PERT tools, but rather acknowledges that projects are really business change efforts and should be treated this way from the start. Our approach fits well with the teachings of Peter Senge about organizational learning. Our work has led to hundreds of individuals coming to educational sessions to learn about this work, as well as custom education sessions for internal project groups in large corporations. For one client, we developed a detailed course to help inculcate these techniques into the change leaders of the company. This company soon after made a major turn-around in the tight technology market based on new products and new approaches to the marketplace. KCG has educated groups and individuals, as well as coached teams using these new successful approaches.
