Greyhound article as a Case Study.

Be prepared to discuss the following questions, focusing on the
Greyhound article.
- What assumptions did Greyhound executives make about their customers that proved to be incorrect?
What would be the correct assumptions? Where do the "correct" assumptions lead your design of Trips?
- What value proposition appeals to most Greyhound customers? How might that be different from
one for a major airline? What would the respective value disciplines be for the two companies?
Where do the "right" propositions/value disciplines for Greyhound lead your design of Trips?
- Where does the behavior of the Greyhound executives violate the principles of reengineering as
postulated by Hammer in his HBR article? the principles of change management as postulated
by Reck & Reck in their Managing Change article?
- Define reengineering success. Bring your own list of several companies you know that have been
successful in their reengineering efforts. Be prepared to tell a "story" or inject comments about
your companies into the class discussion.
